Graduate Assistive Technology at The Reading Institute

The Assistive Special Education Technology program is one of the few programs nationwide that provides expert mastery in the specialized field of assistive and adaptive technology. Our innovative program teaches educators, therapists, media specialists, and others how to choose and use the best tools and methods for helping learners with special needs participate in the general education curriculum.

Courses are offered at The Reading Institute in Williamstown, Massachusetts at a discounted rate, and meet on weeknights, weekends, and, occasionally, as one-week sessions to accommodate working professionals. The program operates in a cohort model with admission opportunities only in select semesters. Please contact the office for details.

Interested in learning more about the use of iPads for children with special needs and in inclusive special education classrooms? Attend the one hour presentation being held before the session at 4:00 PM.
Participants will be introduced to:

  • some of the best iPad applications for assistive technology
  • additional resources
