Laurie Crumpacker earned a BS at Simmons College, an MA from Harvard University and a PhD from Boston University. She specializes in U.S. history, particularly the history of American women. Recently serving as the Interim Dean of Arts and Sciences, she teaches courses on Women in American History, seminars on Nineteenth-Century U.S. History, Colonial and Native American History and Women and Power in American History from 1785 to 1890. She was a consultant on Boston's Women's Heritage Trail and on the exhibit in Boston's Old South Meetinghouse. Her most recent book is a two volume collection entitled Second to None: A Documentary History of American Women; she is now at work on a book about Margaret Fuller and the American Renaissance.
