Reform and Revolutions in Asia

4 sem. hrs. Prereq.: at least two history courses and consent of the department for undergraduates. Enrollment normally open only to juniors, seniors, and graduate students. Examines revolutions and reforms in modern Asia, focusing primarily on the watershed events occurring in the 20th century. Topics include comparisons between bloody or nonviolent revolutions and gradual or radical reform.
