Autumn

As a kind of countdown to Halloween, how about a Witch of the Day. Is that lame? Whatever.

The autumnal equinox was just the other day, and it's as if it turned fall over night. It's cooler, the sky looks different (you know how the light slants a certain way in autumn?), and the air has that crisp, distinctive smell.

Gender and Cultural Studies has had to push back its welcome reception for new students by a couple weeks(!) because it turned out we had scheduled it on Yom Kippur, and we couldn't book the space we wanted until mid October. But we're determined to give a proper welcome to the incoming cohort, however belated!
