Back to school
Spring break didn't feel like much, but it was a little bit of a rest. The work only gets more intense from now until May.
The due date for the first phase of my thesis proposal is on Thursday, and I feel more at ease now that I've managed to narrow and solidify my topic beyond just "how are autism/autistic people portrayed as monstrous in popular representations?" I'm going to use Donna Haraway's cyborg theory as my theoretical lens and move toward a statement on what kind of political promise cyborg theory can offer to disability self-advocacy. I'm pretty excited.
Of course when I think of cyborgs my first thought is Daleks, and my second thought is Seven of Nine...
