Dalek of the Day

So should I just retire Free Response Friday? I think so, for now at least.

The new semester begins in just a couple days!

It's hard to believe it's been four weeks or so since the last semester ended. I went to Hawai'i, I started my guest series at Bitch, I turned 23, I got a cat--a lot has been going on during the break.

I'm pleased with how I did for my first semester and I'm looking forward to starting classes for the spring. I got into the graduate consortium in women's studies, so I'll be taking three classes instead of the usual two. I'm in a mandatory seminar in cultural studies, a class on health systems and policy, and the graduate consortium course on women's bodies in American film.

All of my classes sound like they're going to be interesting, but I am particularly excited for the health systems class because right now I am hoping to pursue a PhD in public health policy following my master's at Simmons.

I have also published a few more posts (scroll down on my profile for a complete list of published posts) on my guest blog over at Bitch. PHEW! Bitch is paying me a bit for my blog and this student blogging position for Simmons is part of a fellowship, but if I don't get a TA-ship this semester I will need to find another source of income. I have a potential job opportunity that might be promising so far, though I'm very early in the process. Wish me luck!
