American Poetry

4 sem. hrs. Studies major American poets and the process by which the creation of a self precedes the creation of one's poetry. Attends to such figures as Walt Whitman, Emily Dickinson, Robert Frost, Marianne Moore, Wallace Stevens, William Carlos Williams, and Robert Lowell.
