Job Description:
The Deparment of Communication Studies at the University of Alabama invites applications for a full-time, tenure-track assistant or associate faculty position in Organizational Communication, to begin August 16, 2009. The department seeks applicants whose research and teaching interests are focused in organizational communication with emphases in any of the following areas: leadership, small group communication, diversity, conflict resolution, and change. Experience working with or consulting for organizations is highly desirable. Salary and rank will be commensurate with qualifications and experience.
Requirements:
The desired candidate will have completed the Ph.D., be
developing a program of scholarship at the assistant level with potential for producing
a strong publication record, or demonstrate evidence at the associate level of
an ongoing research program. As a member of the department, the
successful candidate will teach both undergraduate and graduate courses, as
well as advise and mentor undergraduate and graduate students, and will be
responsible for conducting an ongoing program of research and publication in
organizational communication.

Duties Include:
Responsibilities include (but not limited to):
Maintain HBI website using university's content management system. Includes writing, editing and posting new content
Assist Editor of online magazine in uploading new images and content
Coordinate production of annual calendar project. Includes researching content, establishing relationships with vendors, and
securing artwork
Manage exhibit bookings and calendar project sales; track and report order inquiries and travel schedules
Perform marketing related tasks for Director of Communications
Represent the HBI at public programs and community events
Act as photo archivist for the HBI
Manage individual administrative projects
Requirements:
Skills and Experience:
Bachelor's degree or equivalent. Requires 3 to 5 years of related experience in marketing and communications, preferably at nonprofit or in academia
Excellent organizational skills, accuracy and attention to detail
Strong verbal and written communications skills.
Ability to work on several projects at one time
Computer skills required - Word, Excel and Adobe Creative Suite. General knowledge/ experience with web content management software, and willingness to learn
Excellent relationship building skills
Team player.

Job Description:
The Department of Communication at Indiana University Purdue University Fort Wayne (IPFW) seeks a new colleague to begin in August, 2009.
A broadly trained tenure track assistant professor to teach undergraduate and graduate courses in research methods (quantitative and/or qualitative) with some combination of interpersonal, organizational, and small group communication. Other areas of candidates' interest could include persuasion or health communication. All research methods are welcome including empirical, interpretive, critical, historical and /or rhetorical approaches. The successful candidate will demonstrate a commitment to and expertise in teaching and research and will hold a doctorate in Communication.
