We are proud that our graduates have exceptional pass rates on the Massachusetts Test for Educator Licensure exams (99% pass rate overall) — and that they very quickly build successful careers. Supervisory administrators and schoolteachers rate Simmons students as extremely well prepared, knowledgeable, and enthusiastic. Our students contribute their success to individually tailored programs of study, extensive internship and field opportunities, quality teaching, and a highly collaborative academic environment.

The Simmons Master of Arts in Teaching (MAT) prepares women and men for teaching at elementary, middle, and high school levels. The Master of Arts in Teaching English as a Second Language (MATESL) provides preparation for licensure to teach in Massachusetts public schools, as well as for teaching children and adults in private schools, community settings, and businesses at home and abroad. The Urban Elementary Education program offers a tuition discount, training, and tremendous personal support for beginning urban teachers. Not least, our Educational Leadership program provides exceptional preparation for educators who wish to pursue a challenging, rewarding career as a school administrator.
