Building on the decade-long success of the annual SLJ Leadership Summit, this program is designed to help foster a new generation of school library leaders. Learn how to enhance your skills to effectively innovate in the real world and shape yourself as the future leader that our school libraries need. Join a hands-on guided expedition to taking those first steps in a new setting or making that leap into leadership.

In its inaugural year, we are especially excited to present this​ event​ ​in Boston at Simmons, a highly regarded and nationally ranked institution cultivating new library professionals and leaders through its school of library and information scienc​​e ​school library teacher program​, ​and Center for the Study of Children's Literature.​

The multi-tracked day, will be taught by nationally recognized library leaders including Roger Sutton, Joyce Valenza, and Michele Luhtala will cover how to embrace and integrate new technologies, become Future Ready, move ahead on Making and STEAM learning, and connect with children and teens where they are. The Innovator Basecamp will help you increase the impact of your media and information literacy lessons and take an expansive approach to programming. It will offer guidance and tools to maximize your collections, engage your students in reading, and build your expertise on all things kid lit.
