17th Annual Economics Student-Alumnae Networking Dinner
Starts: 3/23/2017 5:30 PM
Ends: 3/23/2017 8:30 PM
Location: Linda K. Paresky Conference Center
The Annual Economics Student-Alumnae Networking Dinner is a signature event for the Economics Department, and a platform for developing the Department’s Econnect program, which integrates our academics with career preparation. The Networking Dinner provides our alumnae a practical way to help current students develop networking skills and build mentoring relationships. The event is structured (1) to facilitate conversations about internship, employment, and graduate school opportunities, and (2) to foster effective networking between students and alumnae and among alumnae.
Who should participate in the Economics Networking Dinner? All students in Economics, Economics & Math, Financial Math, and Public Policy may benefit from networking with alumnae, who return to campus from as far away as California to network with current Simmons students. In particular, seniors and juniors may learn about internships, recommended coursework for various careers or graduate studies, job market trends, and even job openings. Undecided sophomores and first-year students will get a wide variety of real-life answers to the question, "What can I do with an Economics major?"
How can I participate? This event is open to all Economics majors and minors, Public Policy minors, and Simmons students currently enrolled in Economics courses. Event registration is required and invitations with details and deadlines will be made available by mid-February 2017.
Presented by the Department of Economics and the Economics Student Liaison with generous support from the Office of Alumnae/i Relations and the Office of the Dean of the College of Arts and Sciences.
