The National Conversation on Board Diversity

2020 Women on Boards

Building The Pipeline: How Do We Prepare Ourselves For Director Opportunities

Starts:  11/15/2017  7:30 AM
Ends: 11/15/2017 9:30 AM
Location: Linda K. Paresky Conference Center

Join us for an intimate breakfast event where attendees will have an opportunity to network and hear practical advice on how to prepare themselves for board positions from current board members and senior executives who have developed training programs for women who want to join a corporate board.

The Event

On November 15, in cities across the U.S. and throughout the world, thousands of C-Suite and senior level executives will discuss and explore the benefits that women bring to company boardrooms.

This year our program will open with a panel discussion, moderated by Simmons College President Helen Drinan, which will present the board-ready program run by Women in Bio.

Jessica Swartz, Chair of EWIB, Lynne Sullivan, a graduate of the program who is now sitting on a corporate board, and Sophie Chapelle, a leader in the biotech industry currently enrolled in the program, will discuss this year’s theme: “How do we prepare ourselves and find director opportunities?”

Participants will then take part in table discussions, facilitated by a female corporate board member at each table. The list of facilitators can be found below.

The Campaign

2020 Women on Boards is a national campaign to increase the percentage of women on U.S. company boards to 20% or greater by the year 2020.
