Illuminated Manuscripts Exhibit 15th to 16th Century

Italian Renaissance Books & High Tea

Starts:  12/10/2016  11:15 AM
Ends: 12/10/2016 2:30 PM
Location: Isabella Stewart Gardner Museum & Simmons College

Join us for a once in a lifetime opportunity exclusively for Simmons alumnae/i to view and learn about the manuscripts from the curatorial experts.  Lisa Fagin Davis, exhibit curator, Simmons Library and Information Science adjunct faculty member and Executive Director of the Medieval Academy of America will be with us to guide us through the history and majesty of the books at each of the three venues.

Our tour and lecture series will take place over three months and in three venues.  We start in October with the oldest manuscripts in the collection on exhibit at Harvard’s Houghton Library, move on to the McMullen Museum at Boston College in November and conclude in December with a tour at the Isabella Stewart Gardner Museum, followed by High Tea at Simmons College.  Join us for one, two or all three tours.

To culminate the lecture series, join us after the Renaissance Books tour for a special High Tea at Simmons College.
