The Women's Initiative is uniting women who want to take an active role in improving lives and strengthening communities in Greater Boston and the Merrimack Valley. Through leadership, education, volunteerism and philanthropy, we're helping people today while creating a brighter future for everyone in our region. Since our first Women's Leadership Breakfast 16 years ago, hundreds of dedicated, compassionate women in Greater Boston and the Merrimack Valley have rallied to inspire and support young girls. The momentum of this event led to the founding of The Women's Initiative for women to give back year-round. Hundreds of women throughout our region are helping children, youth and families. If you'd like to join us, here are two upcoming volunteer opportunities:
Holiday Toy Drive
Get into the holiday spirit this season and engage your family in adopting a child or a family at a local nonprofit for holidays! New items are requested: toys, household items, books, new coats and gift cards. The drive will run from Dec 1st-Dec 20th. If you are interested please email email@example.com
Join United Way to assist the City of Boston in a critical overnight count of people living on the streets of Boston each December. The census, which also counts those in shelters, provides invaluable information on the scope of homelessness in Boston. Date and time TBA. Contact firstname.lastname@example.org to sign up.
