Ursula Pfeiffer, Producer, ESPN

“Simmons was a welcome haven where I could detach myself from a hectic work schedule and dedicate myself to evaluating the dynamics happening in my work environment  ─ whether it was between myself and my co-workers, or between co-workers themselves.”

Ursula’s experience with Simmons’ Leadership Development Programs has been positive and powerful because it provided her with insight into different styles of management and leadership – as well as a fresh outlook on her own performance as a leader.  “The programs helped me to shed light on scenarios I was conscious of but hadn’t concretely defined, which, in turn, heightened my awareness of possible pitfalls or opportunities in the workplace.”

Ursula says she was inspired by the cases presented during the programs, enabling her to analyze various scenarios and develop potential game plans to address them. Thanks to her participation in the Simmons programs, Pfeiffer says she has experienced a self-evaluation of sorts and is now much more aware of the different types of workplace situations that should be dealt with, reinforced, or cultivated.

Pfeiffer says she welcomed the all-women environment and found it very inspiring. “It was interesting to discover how women managers struggle with some issues and thrive with others.”

Perhaps the most important benefit of the programs for Pfeiffer was her ability to walk away with a better, clearer understanding of cultural and gender differences when addressing similar issues.

“The programs were an inspiring experience worth my time, money, and effort, and one I would highly recommend to all women leaders in today’s complex working environment.”
