Simmons | Boston, Massachusetts

Athletics Information

Simmons is home to nine NCAA division III varsity intercollegiate teams: basketball, crew, field hockey, lacrosse, soccer, softball, swimming & diving, tennis, and volleyball. Simmons belongs to the Great Northeast Athletic Conference (GNAC), the North Atlantic Conference (NAC), and the Eastern Collegiate Athletic Conference (ECAC). All teams take on worthy opponents outside the GNAC such as MIT, Tufts, Brandeis, Smith and Wellesley, among others. This fall Simmons athletics will conduct a cross country club team for those interested runners! Students who wish to participate on an intercollegiate athletic team should contact the coach for that team this summer. Students who will be playing a Fall Sport will be contacted by their coaches during the summer with information on Fall Training, sports physicals, and much more. Whether or not you were recruited to play a sport at Simmons, there are plenty of opportunities to become involved in Simmons Athletics as an Athlete or as a Fan.

Fall Orientation Crew Clinic
Join Simmons Crew Head Coach Nikolay Kurmakov and Simmons Novice Coach Naomi Rudov for a great introduction to our Division III Varsity rowing program. Find out what rowing at Simmons is all about at the Fall Orientation Crew Clinic, August 27-29, 2009.

Simmons Crew offers this fall clinic for all incoming freshmen and transfer students that are interested in rowing. Fall Orientation Crew Clinic rowers will move into the dorms several days early, meet their coaches and varsity teammates, and learn to row on the beautiful Charles River from our program's home at Riverside Boat Club. For more information, including the brochure to sign up for the crew clinic, please visit the Crew Clinic website.

Take advantage of a great opportunity to try a new sport, whether or not you rowed or played sports in high school! Our team members come from diverse athletic backgrounds, and have become competitive athletes as members of Simmons Crew.

Walk-on Try-outs
While the majority of Simmons competitive athletes are recruited out of high school, many skilled walk-on students have plenty of opportunities to play. If you are interested in playing a sport and want to learn more about the walk-on tryouts during the fall, please contact the coaches for the sports in which you are interested.
