Laima's Biography
a short bio about me: I was born in Latvia (which is a small country in eastern Europe, right next to the Baltic Sea). I lived there until I was 7 years old, and then my mum decided to move to Prague, as she got a good job offer. So my sister and I went to an international school for the next six years. In my fourth year there my current teacher at the time and my mum fell in love, so a year later they got married... and VOILA I had an English stepfather. At which time my parents moved back to Latvia.
I entered a contest when I was 16 and won a full scholarship to the United World College in New Mexico (which is the equivalent to the last two years of high school) After two years there... I have ended up here: SIMMONS COLLEGE!!
Favorite Books
- I am a through and through Harry Potter fan (one that has been there before all the fame came along:) ) but I LOVE reading, possibly that is because my mum is a journalist/translator, and works with text and books all the time, and possibly it is because my stepdad is a teacher, together they own so many books we keep having to buy new bookshelves. So a few more of my favourites: Pride and Prejudice (Jane Austen), The hobbit, Lord of the Rings ( J.R.R Tolkien), Prodigal Summer (Barbara Kingsolver), anything by Mike Gayle.. and others
