It seems like just a few weeks ago I was just getting settled into the dorm room, and now we are closing in on the first semester! I am very excited to go home for thanksgiving break to see my friends and family and get a little bit of a break from school before finals week. I know that its going to be very stressful. \And boy is it getting cold outside! I don't even want to think about what its going to be like in January ! I really need some new pictures up.... I also enjoyed going home to visit my family and eat some home-cooked meals:) Last week there was also no labs! Wow was that nice! Labs are pretty intense and I am soooo glad that we got a break from them. But now, its time to get back into the full swing of things... which was pretty difficult last Wednesday morning for sure. And the weather?? What happened!?!!? two weeks ago I was wearing shorts and tank tops and now I have to wear my L.L. Bean winter parka to my morning and evening classes! I guess its just typical new england weather. I guess thats all for now. As a physical therapy major I have to take chemistry this year which has really been a struggle for me. I studied for hours and hours for my first exam. I reviewed all material in the book and in the notes from class,made a study guide, made flashcards, and went to the study groups. Going into the room I was feeling confident that I knew the material. I finished the exam and was quite sure that I did well. Come to find out I failed miserably!!! and pretty much everyone else in my class did too! When I got my exam back I was stunned that I did so poorly. The result of my hard long hours of studying has left me feeling very discouraged. This week I am going to see about getting a tutor for chemistry and hopefully that will help. Also, maybe learn some more effective ways to study. I'm well into the second week of school. I really like it here and everyone is great!! I live in Morse and all of my floormates are so awesome and friendly. My roommate Kim is also really awesome, she's on the volleyball team here at Simmons and I've been to a couple of her games-- they are really good! In addition to going to class and studying, I've been spending alot of time at Northeastern with some of my friends which is just a short walk away. Tomorrow I have an interview for workstudy which I'm pretty excited about. I'm looking forward to getting a job and starting work. I'll take some pictures and post them in next weeks entry. So far my Simmons experience has been great! today I went to French and my MCC class and they were both great! I know french will be difficult because I'm really new at it. Other than that I'm really exited about going to all my other classes.
