So, classes started just over a week ago and things are going pretty well so far. I had to do some shuffling around to find a schedule I was comfortable with, but I really like my classes this semester. I also found out that I only need three more classes to be a political science minor, so I’ve decided to do that and now I’m taking a really interesting class on Congress and the President.
With the start of classes, brings the start of student activities. Last Friday, we had the annual activities fair on the residence campus quad. All different student organizations had tables set up to let people know about what they do and to give people the opportunity to get involved. I am a leader of Simmons Christian Fellowship so I was there to represent the group. Here are some pictures I took of the fair.

The last picture (of pictures) is from the SCF table. It’s part of an image survey called Soularium that we use to promote spiritual discussion. We met a lot of really awesome girls at the activities fair and it’s been nice to see new students at some of our group activities. I even got to meet LaShondra (one of the other bloggers) and her roommate.
As you may have read in my bio, this is my first year commuting from home. It’s definitely not as convenient as living in the dorms, but I’ve been enjoying it. I think that since I lived on campus for my first two years and was able to establish community and learn my way around Simmons, it makes it easier to commute now. It’s nice to be able to use a car, eat free food, shower without wearing shoes, and borrow my mom’s clothes (she’s very stylish for a mom). Plus, we get more TV channels including the Soap Network, which allows me to watch Beverly Hills 90210 on my afternoons off, like I am now…
