Christmas Eve in Minneapolis!
Happy holidays and Merry Christmas to everyone! It is Christmas Eve and I am back home in Minneapolis. It is nice to be home, especially being able to relax and see all my friends and family, but I miss school! I miss all my friends and just being there, but I don't miss all the studying and homework, so it's nice to have a break. And I can't believe tomorrow is Christmas already! It doesn't feel like it should be here already. Usually the anticipation of waiting to open all my presents and seeing them underneath our beautiful Christmas tree makes it seem like Christmas will never come, and you can't wait for it to come. But we didn't get our tree till this Tuesday! And so the presents weren't underneath the tree for that long, and I haven't been home for that long either and so it just doesn't feel like it should be Christmas already. But it is exciting and waking up Christmas morning is my favorite thing ever!
And tonight we are going to church to the 11 o'clock service. It's really fun because we sing a lot of Christmas carols and all light candles and I get to see everyone from church for the first time in 4 months as well!
And I finished all of my Christmas shopping today! I have never had to go shopping on Christmas Eve to get all my shopping done, but I decided to wait till I got home to buy everything so I've been doing it this week, and didn't finish until today! But it was fun, I love shopping, especially Christmas shopping.
A few of my friends and I went back to our old high school last week to say hi to our old teachers and see some students. It was nice to see them and see how everyone is doing. It was a little weird being back, just because we haven't been there in so long and it felt weird to not be a student for once! But it was fun, and then we went out to lunch afterwards!
And I am working a lot too, babysitting, and working a little at 2 other jobs that I used to work at, and making some money so that I can pay for all these Christmas presents and have some money to go to see lots of movies and stuff while I'm home! There are so many movies that I want to see it's crazy!
Well we're about to have dinner so I must go, but I hope everyone has a fun and safe holiday and I'll write again next week! xoxo -Hannah :)

My first semester in college is all over!
I can't believe it. My first semester in college is already done! I managed to make it through finals without any all-nighters or nervous breakdowns! And now I have a whole month to relax :) I can't believe I'm going home tomorrow for an entire month! It's going to weird to be home and just hang out, watch movies, go shopping, and not have to worry about school at all! And hanging out with my old friends and family! And then it's going to be weird to come back to school after being gone for a month too. But I think I will be really excited to come back because I will miss everyone here a lot and it will be exciting to start all new classes too.
This past week has been really crazy with studying for finals, writing a paper, and getting ready to go home! But I didn't get too stressed out over finals, and hopefully I did alright! It kind of sucks having to wait like 3 weeks or so to find out your final grades, but I'm sure this time is going to go by pretty fast too. I can't believe how fast the past 3 weeks went by! I feel like I was just home a few days ago and just got back from Thanksgiving break. But I'm really excited to go home and see everyone. Even though it is freezing in Minneapolis! I looked at the weather today and it said it is supposed to be a low of zero on Sunday! And today it was 45 degrees in Boston! But it was raining in the morning and then kind of icky later in the day so it wasn't like it was sunny, but it was still a lot warmer than MN! But I'm excited for the cold too because it's been snowing a lot and probably will continue to, so I am going to go skiing a lot over break which is exciting cause I haven't been skiing in so long!
I also want to try and read some books and catch up on movies I haven't seen, but mostly just relax. Because after this month I'll have another whole semester with only 2 breaks and so I will need to recharge myself this month and then be ready to work hard again next semester.
And Christmas is only 8 days away! My favorite holiday! It hasn't felt as much as Christmas season being in the dorms and not going around the city as much just because I've been so busy. But a bunch of us girls went to dinner in Faneuil Hall last week to celebrate the end of school and it was really pretty there. The trees were all decorated with white lights and there was a little Christmas tree vendor and so I got to smell the wonderful tree smell for a minute! So that made it feel a little more like Christmas. And the dorms are all really decorated here too which is nice. They try hard to make it like home. But I'm really excited to go Christmas shopping while I'm home because that is one of my favorite things to do and the malls are always so festive!
Well I should go and finish packing! I leave tomorrow morning and luckily my grandparents, who live about 40 minutes away, have agreed to drive me to the airport so I don't have to spend a ton of money on a cab or try and carry all my luggage on the T! That would be a challenge! And it's a lot faster driving there than taking the T. So I'm very lucky that they're taking me! I hope everyone has a wonderful Christmas and I will next write when I'm home in Minneapolis! Night- xoxo, Hannah :)

Last day of classes and a crazy blizzard!
Oh my gosh right now in Boston it is snowing, raining, sleeting, hailing, lightening, and thundering and very very windy all at the same time!! It is a crazy blizzard outside and you would not believe the sight outside. When I look out my window I just see white snow blowing everywhere because it is so windy but you can't really even see anything else because the snow is so intense. I have never seen a storm like this and it will be very interesting to see how much snow we have tomorrow. It is exciting but a little challenging at the same time. I like snow but this is a blizzard storm, not pretty slow falling snow! And it makes it difficult if you need to get anywhere or want to go out so hopefully it won't last forever and this weekend will be nicer weather!
And today was the last day of classes! It feels really weird to be done with all my classes, even though I still have finals next week. But it feels good too. I still have a lot of work to do. I have a paper to write and I have to study so much for 3 finals so this week is gonna be crazy busy and stressful, but once this next week is over I can go home for a whole month and relax! I can't wait!
This weekend a bunch of girls and I are going to Dick's Last Resort restaurant to celebrate the end of the semester so I'm really excited about that! The restaurant is in Faneuil Hall and apparently they do some crazy things there like make you weird looking hats that you have to wear and they throw your food at you when they bring it! So we'll see how that is! I think it will be fun and a new interesting experience! I'll let you know more about it after we go.
I better go and start my paper so that I can spend most of my other time studying! I met with a study skills tutor a few days ago and she really helped me to get organized and feel more confident around finals and I learned some great tips so I'm glad Simmons has resources like that. Hopefully everyone is staying safe in this crazy weather where ever you are! Until next time...xoxo Hannah :)

Only one more week of class until finals!!
I can't believe that I only have one more week of classes until finals week! I am getting more and more nervous about my finals, mostly the Chemistry one. But I'm going to see a tutor to help me with it next week, and another tutor to help me learn how to manage my time and study better for finals so hopefully that will help and make me feel more confident. A lot of it is psychological, so if I think that I will do well I will have a better chance of actually doing well, so we'll see what happens!
And this weekend I'm going to my grandparents for one night to see them the last time before I leave for a whole month! I am used to seeing them a lot more now than I have before since I'm so close to them now, so it will be a little weird not seeing them for almost 2 months, but I can't wait to go home and get to relax and see everyone again so that will be really nice.
So not much else is new, it's still pretty warm here, especially compared to Minneapolis! So I'm enjoying that and seeing how long it will last! And I still haven't gone to see the Ansel Adams exhibit at the Museum of Fine Arts which we get into for free as Simmons College students, so I'm trying to find a day where I can break away from homework and studying to go and see it, but I'm not sure if it will happen! I do really want to go though so hopefully I'll have a little bit of time in the next 2 weeks before I go home!
Well I should get going and do some homework before heading off to the gym! Until next time...xoxo -Hannah :)
