Trip to New York City!!
On Saturday I went to New York City for the day on a bus sponsored by Simmons! The school has a lot of fun trips like this that they make cheaper for the students, (it was only $10 to go to New York!!) and so this past Saturday they rented a bus and took about 50 students for the day to New York City. We left at about 8 am and they dropped us off at Rockefeller Center at around 12:30, and then let us roam free until 8 pm, when we had to be back at the bus to start the 4 hour drive home! The bus ride isn't bad, it is actually fun because you can do homework, or watch lots of movies!
In New York, I got to spend some time with my cousin who is 20 who I'm really close to. Then she had to go to work so I hung out with my roommate and some other girls and just walked around the city, sightseeing, shopping, and then we ate at a really good Cuban restaurant! It was so much fun, and I took tons of pictures with my digital camera! It got pretty dark by the end of the day so some of them are kind of dark, but I'm going to put some of them in so you can see them!
This week is really busy, I had a Spanish test today, and I have a Chemistry test on Wednesday! And I have lots of reading to do for my freshmen English class as well, so I'm not able to hang out as much as I did the past 2 weeks.
Well I must be off to go take a shower and study some more...Hope you enjoy the pictures! -Hannah :)

That's the New York public library. I thought it was a pretty building, and it's pretty well known!

That's the Hard Rock Cafe, a restaurant that they have in cities all around the world.

This is the empire state building! Not a great picture but you can see how tall it is nonetheless!

This is the very beautiful very colorful fountain in Rockefeller Center. This is also where people go ice skating in the winter!

This is the NBC building in Rockefeller Center. At the bottom street level they have the "NBC Experience Store" where they have tons of merchandise for every NBC store and you can purchase tickets to see tours of different NBC studios, etc...And in the upper levels of the building is where they film Saturday Night Live!

This is my cousin Kaitlin and me!

This is my roommate Brett and a mime that was in Rockefeller Center. She put money in his hat and he started to move and then gave her a hug but then wouldn't let go! Only in NYC...

Sick today, Biology test on Wednesday!
Another day, another load of homework! Right about now I am saying thank you that I am not addicted to as many TV shows as I used to be! There isn't much time for TV in college! But you do have to make time for The O.C. of course! But tonight is Monday and there isn't anything on so I am forced to study for my big biology test that I have on Wednesday. It is our first test, and I'm a little nervous! It is actually probably the easiest test and it is on the least amount of information compared to the other tests we will have, but none the less it is our first and we aren't sure how the format is, etc...So that is how I am spending my evening!
And I'm sick! I'm feeling better now because I started feeling sick on Friday but then luckily I went to my grandparents house on Saturday and of course they took care of me and gave me lots of medications so hopefully I'll be almost all better by tomorrow. A good night's sleep tonight will help a lot.
I'm getting along really well with both my roommates though, which is sooooo helpful! They are both so nice, and really really generous! And that is so great to have when you are in a new place; I can't imagine not getting along with my roommate while having to adjust to a new place. So I lucked out on that part! And being in a triple isn't that bad, we got one of the more spacious rooms, not the biggest, but definitely not the smallest. It still is somewhat cramped sometimes, but it is not as bad as I thought it would be. And I even have a little extra space so that when I go home for Thanksgiving I can bring some more stuff back with me!
Well that is all for tonight, but tomorrow I'm going to buy a memory card for my digital camera and then take some cool pictures and post them on the website! Tomorrow is my errand running day so I'll take pictures from around the city and tell you all about finding my way around! Thanks for listening...Hannah :)

Pictures of Faneuil Hall!
Hey everybody. Tonight my friend Lauren and I and a couple other people went down to Faneuil Hall and walked around, and got to see some really cool shops. They have some really good food there! I got this pastry with custard and kiwis and strawberries! It was so good! I highly recommened anyone who is in the Boston area to go check out Faneuil Hall. And I took some pictures! It was like the first time I used the camera and I didn't have a lot of memory space and I messed up a couple of the pictures so there is only 1 good one that I'm putting up now, but there will be many more to come. Hope you all like the picture and it turns out well! Enjoy...Hannah :)
That's me with a famous statue in Faneuil Hall!! Cute huh?

1st day of classes and moving in!
I made it to Boston! I never thought I would fit all my stuff in my suitcases but we did it and I still have a little space left for more stuff that I can bring back at Thanksgiving! And I love my room! Isn't that crazy? I am in a triple but I actually really love it. I was really worried at first about fitting everything in and being too cramped but it is perfect. And both my roommates are so nice. And I decorated my room with all these pictures that I love and my new sheets are so soft! And then I went shopping with my mom and grandparents the day I moved in and bought all this fun stuff for my room! College is so much fun :)
And yesterday I started classes. All 4 in one day! But I was done at like 12 so that was nice. And I really like all my professors too! The science classes seem like they are going to be hard and I'm sure I will be studying A LOT for those! But other than that I'm excited about my classes. And then I had my chemistry lab today which was really fun, I love labs. And the best part is that you get to leave when you are done with the lab! You don't have to stay for the whole class time, you just get to do the lab at your own pace and then leave when you are done! How cool is that?
And the food! I actually like it! A lot of people say that they don't like the food in the cafeteria but I do! I don't know why, but it really isn't bad. There are always soooo many choices, and there is always a salad bar so you can try and stay healthy! And the desserts are so good! I better be careful with them or I'll gain the freshmen 15!! LOL.
And I'm having lots of fun meeting new people, even though it is weird because I am usually really really outgoing and loud and crazy, but when I'm in a new situation with new people I get really shy so like I probably am not being as outgoing as I should be, but it is hard to talk to people that you don't know and try to make new friends. But it is exciting at the same time. And I'm not really homesick, I was a little bit the first couple days but now I'm so busy that I don't have time to miss home!
Well I better get going because I have chemistry homework before I have to go and watch the OC!! It's the season premiere and we're having a big party in our lounge so I'm very excited about that! And then after that we're having this thing called "floor snacks" where everyone on our dorm hall floor just sits out in the hall and eats snacks and talks and gets to know each other better!
I'll try and write again this weekend and maybe even get some pictures up!!...Love to all my people in Minneapolis and all my girls-I miss y'all!! xoxo -Hannah :)

Only 2 days left in Minnesota!
Well this is my first entry! It feels weird because it makes the fact that I'm actually leaving to go to Boston for college real! It has always been so far away that I didn't think much about the reality of it, but now it's actually only 2 days away and I can't believe it! I'm super excited and can't wait, but I hardly have started packing! I am a big procrastinator sometimes and I probably won't do the major packing until like Friday afternoon and I leave on Saturday morning! And now I'm kind of stressed out because my mom and I are flying out on Northwest, and they are on that big strike right now, so they had to change our flight so that we are leaving 2 hours later and we have a layover in Detroit, so instead of getting there at 1 pm we are not getting there at 5 pm! And that was the only day I had to get some stuff I needed in Boston and get all ready to move in, but now I hardly have any time! So we'll see how that goes. And I'm also just finishing up the summer reading! I wanted to wait until right before school started so that the book would be fresh in my mind, and also I was reading Harry Potter! I read the 4th, 5th and 6th this summer so I was finishing that up!
One of the weirdest things is that right now almost all of my friends have already left for college. I think some of the east coast schools start later then others and so I feel like I'm the only one here! And my sister has already started school! So I feel like I'm not even going to school ever or something. It is weird. And I never could have imagined how hard it would be to say goodbye to your friends. I cried so hard when I sad goodbye to my best friend, and I miss all my friends so much. It is going to be very weird not seeing them everyday, but I just think about all the new friends I'm going to make and that makes me feel a little better!
And I'm getting sooooo excited about Boston! It is one of my favorite cities ever, and everyday I have to remind myself that I'm actually going to be living there next year! I have gone there so much because my grandparents live right outside of it, and my church has gone there a bunch of times too, so I'm somewhat familiar, but there is going to be so much to learn about getting around, and so many new places I'm going to discover! Boston is really the #1 college town, and I can't think of being anywhere else. I just hope the weather isn't too bad! But after being in Minnesota for 18 years I think anything is better than our weather! And Minneapolis, I'm definitely going to miss a lot of Minneapolis, there are a lot of cool places and people here, but I'm so ready for a change. I think going far away to somewhere somewhat new and different for college is the best thing you can do. And if you get homesick, which I'm sure I will at first, you can always call, email, write, or instant message people! I love being in the times of such great technology!
Well I better head off to bed but I will write again soon and talk more about how my packing is going or how I managed to do it in a day or 2! Until then...*Hannah*
