One more week until the end!

May 06, 2006

I moved back home today. I didn’t move EVERYthing, just most of my stuff. I left some things to live with for a few days on when I go back to take my finals. I had five classes this semester, and you would think that I would have five finals. Five hard finals with huge papers. But only two finals and a few small papers here and there. Just Japanese and African-American literature. So my parents and I figured that I would move all the majority of my stuff home this weekend that way I just have to take Amtrak back home on saturday. I say it’s a treat for me, because I ABSOLUTELY love taking the Amtrak train back and forth to Boston. It’s such a nice, scenic, peaceful route. The lady at the Amtrak counter in South Station doesn’t understand what I get out of the train ride, no matter how late the train arrives to Pittsfield (it has a track record of being 5 hours late before). It’s worth it, even if I only get an hour on the train in daylight. The back woods of the Berkshires and the Pioneer Valley is amazing. Several weeks ago, Chris and I took the car ride through a similar route that the train takes, so I could see what everything looks like on the road rather than the track. It was still beautiful. I hope we can do it again sometime because it was romantic.

I just can’t believe that the time has gone by so quickly! I have one more year, and then I graduate! I don’t know where I will be in a year, but I know my life will be changing drastically. I have really enjoyed my time at Simmons. It’s had it’s ups and downs (as to be expected with my first time away from home), but I have learned a lot. I can’t say I regret my decision to come to Simmons. I have gotten everything I wanted to get out of my education and more.

I am excited about next year though, I will be rooming with Ariel (from the original Quad I was in) and we were able to get a HUGE double in one of the dorms. We will have our own bathroom, and we are next door to a lounge (no tv, so that will be great to study in) and the laundry is right across the hall. I will also be off of busy brookline, and be facing the Wheetlock campus, so it’s going to be quieter. I’m exicited, I hope Ariel is. She’s such a sweetheart.

I am off to bed, moving all my stuff down three flights of stairs wears you out. Especially when you have to make multiple trips. G’night!
