Wow.

What an interesting week it has been. We got a strange snowstorm yesterday. Sarah and I needed to go to the CVS down the street, so we braved the weather. She noticed in the room a flash of light, I thought she was seeing things - you know, one of those tricks that your eye plays on you. At the same time a plow went by, so I just told her it was the flashing lights of the plow. [We are on the fourth floor…I highly doubt the flashing lights reached our room, I just didn’t want her to think that she was crazy.] As soon as we get outside though, there was another flash [and no way to say that it was her eyes, because I saw it too] and a crack of thunder. Whoa! It’s snowing!

I wasn’t completely surprised, actually. I saw something similar last year. It’s the strangest thing to see - two theoretically mutually exclusive weather systems. Apparently two fronts collided with one another. One was warmer than the other, and it created a thunderstorm/snowstorm.

So we got nearly a foot of snow from that storm. It actually feels like winter here, and just a little bit like Christmas. I guess we got quite a bit at home too. I hope that we still have some for next week, because next Saturday we are going to get our Christmas tree. I am looking forward to cutting down the tree, the wrangling it into the house, the hot cocoa, the fire and the chestnuts. And my dad and I struggling to untangle the lights. :oD Chris sounds so pitiful on the phone! He’s looking forward to my coming home really badly. He keeps trying to convince me to come home earlier than Friday. I have to decline, as I have exams.

Speaking of exams, this weekend is devoted to studying for them. Next week I have three exams to do: Shakespeare, Japanese and China History. I am not looking forward to my Japanese exam, but it’s the first one that I have. The worst one is the first one, and once it’s done….it’s done.

I figure if I study for all of my other exams today and tomorrow, I can work on Japanese Monday and Tuesday. Tuesday is filled with Japanese study groups. Oh! Fun!

Phew.

Sarah has her boyfriend Sam over right now. He’s a pretty cool guy, though he made the mistake of falling asleep on Sarah’s bed with two very bored girls and a Sharpie permanant marker. Muwahahahaha. We showed Hannah M, Maria and Rahela what we did. They were amused. :oD

Needless to say, he wasn’t happy to discover our doodles.

Anyways. Back to watching tv and playing neopets. Shh. Don’t tell anyone. :oD

Sirens Winter Concert

Tonight was awesome!
I went to the Sirens [the A Cappella group here at Simmons] Winter concert with Anna, and it was a lot of fun. They sang songs from Britney Spears, Averi, Tina Turner, and more. I have never really been to one of their concerts — I was late getting to the last one they had, coming in on their last song. I was SO impressed with my friend Mary’s voice. The girl is amazing! When you talk to her, she has one voice - but when she sings…wow.

Ha ha. Priscilla was wonderful too. She sang a solo of the Averi song “The Bones Underneath”. I had to hear her and Sarah sing that song for the past 2 weeks. I’m not complaining…but…I’m glad it’s over. Nah. It was fun listening to the two of them singing to one another.

Oh snap!

Ha ha.

Priscilla told me to pimp out their spring concert. I don’t know when it is, but if you’re available, you should go. She told me I could get in for free…cause I would be an usher. Sweet! I am totally the cheap college student. I brought in a can so I could get the $1. Muwahahaha. Well, it’s for a good cause. That’s my thought.

We are down to crunch time in school. I have two papers due, a whole bunch of study sheets to make up and studying to start so I am ready for exams. Fortunately, I only have three exams. :oD I bought my ticket home today, I will be taking the Amtrak train home, which will drop me off closer to home than the commuter rail. That makes me mum happy, less of a distance for her to have to travel.

Anyways, it’s getting late and I am tired. I have a long day tomorrow, fun-filled with homework.
