Congratulations to Six Spectrum Scholars
Six recipients of the American Library Association’s Spectrum Scholarship Program will begin their studies at GSLIS this fall. Simmons GSLIS has the distinction of being the only graduate school in the nation with six Spectrum scholars.
The Spectrum Scholarship Program awards scholarships to students of Native American, Asian, African, or Hispanic descent enrolled in library and information science programs in the U.S. The aim is to improve library service at the local library level by developing an ethnically diverse workforce that reflects the communities served by libraries in the new millennium.
Watch for more information about the Spectrum scholars, as well as several other notable GSLIS students, in the fall issue of the Simmons magazine.
