What better way for burgeoning arts administration professionals to hone their skills than to meet with current alumnae/i working in these fields? That was the concept behind a June 27 event held in NYC along with the Office of Alumnae/i Relations.
The “Special Evening of Conversation” brought together undergraduate students participating in the summer New York Arts Administration program with alumnae/i who have made their careers in fashion, media, and the arts. The event was hosted by Beth Blake '91, co-owner of THREAD Design. THREAD is an upscale, cutting edge clothing company that specializes in bridesmaids, bridal, and cocktail attire with stores in Chicago, NYC and LA. Other alumnae who attended included Francesca Castagnoli '91 of Self magazine, Lauren Martinez duPont '93 jewelry designer/creative consultant, and Suze Yalof-Schwartz '89 of Glamour magazine.
