Communications & Gender Studies Dual Degree
Major Conference on Teacher Retention
Communications & Gender Studies Dual Degree
In response to requests from students, Simmons is now offering a dual degree that combines components of both the master’s program in communications management, and the gender and cultural studies program.
“This program is intended for students who may want to combine advanced practical communication experience with work in the theoretical studies of women, gender and multiculturalism,” said Joan Abrams '71, '91GS, director of the MCM program.
Simmons faculty recently accepted the proposal, and students will begin the dual-degree program this fall. For more information, click here or contact CAS Admissions at 617-521-2915.
Major Conference on Teacher Retention
Simmons will host a major national conference in March to discuss the crisis in recruiting and retaining beginning teachers.
The conference, “Growing the Future: Meeting the National Challenge to Recruit, Develop, and Retain New Teachers” is being organized by Simmon’s Graduate Education Program in collaboration with the Beginning Teacher Center and Teacher21, a national nonprofit center focused on professionalizing teaching.
