Information for Guests

To our Graduates, Families, and Guests:

The Bayside Expo Center was chosen four years ago as our commencement site as it is the only venue that can accommodate all of our graduates' guests without limitation. The Office of the Registrar looks forward to welcoming you to Bayside Expo Center on Saturday, May 17.

The 2008 Commencement Ceremony promises to be an exciting event for our graduates and their guests. To ensure that the day is truly a special one for all, we ask that our guests observe the following:

  • No more than two cars per graduate may park at Bayside Expo Center. Space is limited. We want to accommodate every graduate.
  • The reduced rate parking fee charged by Bayside is $8 per car, paid upon arrival.
  • Limited parking is also available at Simmons, 300 the Fenway, with shuttles to Bayside leaving from both the residence and academic campus. The shuttles will leave from 255 Brookline Avenue and the other will leave from Avenue Louis Pasteur in front of the library. Please plan ahead for traffic, scheduled charity walks, and other potential impediments to a timely arrival at Bayside Expo Center.
  • Guests should be seated for the Ceremony no later than 9:45am for the 10:00am opening procession. Graduates must check in for line up no later than 8:45 a.m. sharp.
  • Out of respect to our graduates, no cell phone calls will be permitted in the ceremonies and surrounding hallways. We request that all calls be made outside of Bayside Expo Center.
  • For the safety of guests and processing graduates and the decorum of this celebratory event, guests must remain seated during processionals, recessionals and the ceremonies; the aisles must be kept clear. Designated wheelchair seating will be available; staff will be ready to assist our disabled and elderly guests at the South Entrance of Bayside Expo Center.
  • Photographs may be taken before and after the ceremonies. Designated areas for photographs will be established, but are limited. Professional photographs, of graduates receiving their degrees, will be available for purchase in the weeks following the ceremonies. Full details regarding photos will be sent to home addresses by Commencement Photos.
  • The Bayside Expo Center will have concession stands open for coffee and light snacks prior to the ceremony.
