Jennifer Siebel Newsom
Morning Undergraduate Ceremony

Jennifer Siebel Newsom is a filmmaker who uses this medium to highlight the false and outdated portrayals of women and girls in our society. Her documentary Miss Representation and complementary website expose how mainstream media contributes to the under-representation of women in positions of power, and provides a platform for social action. She also is executive producer of the film Invisible War, which is nominated for an Academy Award this year. She will receive an honorary degree from Simmons College.

Dr. Anne Jardim
Afternoon Graduate Ceremony

Dr. Anne Jardim is a pivotal figure in the history of women's management education, especially as it relates to Simmons College. A former lecturer at Harvard Business School, Dr. Jardim and Margaret Hennig were the founding deans of the Simmons College School of Management. Dr. Jardim is perhaps best known for the significant contributions she has made to the development of successful women managers and for co-authoring, along with Hennig, the seminal book on women in business: The Managerial Woman. She will receive an honorary degree from Simmons College.
