Billie Jean King
Morning Undergraduate Ceremony

A name long synonymous with gender equality, social change, and the highest reaches of athletic accomplishment, Billie Jean King will deliver the morning undergraduate Commencement address at 10 a.m. Ms. King is a 2009 recipient of the Presidential Medal of Freedom, the nation's highest civilian honor, and has been named one of the "100 Most Important Americans of the 20th Century" by LIFE magazine. She was inducted into the International Tennis Hall of Fame in 1987 and most recently was named a member of the U.S. Presidential Delegation to the 2014 Winter Olympics in Russia. She will receive an honorary degree from Simmons.

David Weinberger, Ph.D.
Afternoon Graduate Ceremony

An expert on the intersection of technology and human interaction, Dr. David Weinberger will deliver the afternoon graduate Commencement address at 2 p.m. Dr. Weinberger currently co-directs the Harvard Library and Innovation Lab and is a senior researcher at Harvard's Berkman Center for the Internet & Society. He is the author of several books, including Too Big to Know, which discusses what happens to knowledge now that it's becoming networked, and The Cluetrain Manifesto, which InformationWeek called "the most important business book since Tom Peter's In Search of Excellence." He will receive an honorary degree from Simmons.
