International Student Organization

The Multicultural and International Student Organization (MISO) is a team of passionate, active undergraduate and graduate Simmons students with multicultural and international backgrounds. Our goal is to provide a space for multicultural and international students to celebrate, respect, and share each other's cultures with the Simmons community, and to serve as a support system for new and existing international students. We also aim to create a strong bond between international students and American students, and be a multicultural voice within the Simmons community. Our past accomplishments include many exciting events such as field trips around the Greater Boston area, a student panel on international feminism and queer activism, and our annual International Food and Culture Bazaar.

As the President of MISO, I work closely with the International community to make sure we get the support we need to have the best college experience possible.

As Vice President, I work closely with the President and other members of our organization to ensure MISO is the best resource we can be for international students and the rest of the Simmons community.  My main duties include regularly communicating with the Simmons international community, as well as conceptualizing and coordinating MISO events.

I am a secretary. The secretary holds a duty of being organized and acting as a liaison between members. I am also in charge of keeping a record of all proceedings of MISO meetings, distributing the minutes of meetings, maintaining an up-to-date list of all international students and MISO members, as well as coordinating and implementing publicity for MISO activities.

I am the current JCAB Representative. I attend the monthly Judicial Cabinet meetings and report back any important information to the MISO e-board meetings. I also do constitutional reviews and participate in MISO events.

My role in MISO is the Event Coordinator. My part in MISO is to facilitate MISO-run events by serving in the organization of activities, food, decorations, and other essentials. My job is also to contact other student-run organizations on campus for collaborative events that involve multiple student-run organizations.
