Career Workshops and Programs

Workshops and career programs can provide valuable career information and help build job search skills. A broad range of career topics are addressed, from resumes and cover letters, to interviewing, to creating a job search strategy, and much more. Take advantage of these valuable opportunities to learn more and help boost your own career development. See the CEC Events calendar for upcoming programs.

Career Fairs and Employer Recruiting Events

Throughout the year a variety of employers are invited on campus to recruit Simmons students for internship and full-time positions. Employers have an opportunity to present their organizations and discuss job openings at Information Sessions. You may also see employers at Information Tables in the Fens or MCB Lobby, providing information about their organizations and job openings. The CEC also produces or co-produces a number of career fairs throughout the academic year, some of which are targeted -- such as those for graduate school students in Education, Library & Information Science, and Social Work -- and others of which are broader in scope, such as the annual Spring Career & Internship Fair. For information on recruiting events in your school, visit your school's page under Academic Programs & Careers. You should also check out the CEC Events Calendar for a list of upcoming employer visits and on- and off-campus career fairs and other employer events.

Handshake Job & Internship Listings

The CEC maintains an online job board with listings posted for Simmons students and alums. Handshake is the main Simmons job board and lists internships, full- and part-time jobs, fellowships, and some volunteer opportunities

Career Resources at Beatley Library

The CEC collaborates with Beatley Library to develop and maintain a broad and deep set of resources on career topics. There is both a dedicated space for the print collection in the library, located near the main circulation desk, as well as a rich array of online resources, accessible through a main Career Resources page as well as via numerous individual links found both on the library's website and throughout the CEC site.

CEC Social Media

Keep up with the CEC by following us on a variety of social media sites, including our own Facebook and Twitter pages. Watch for regular updates on those pages throughout the year — and remember to "Like" or "Follow" us! We are also active participants in the Simmons University LinkedIn group, which any member of the Simmons community can join.

CEC Collaboration with the Graduate Schools

The CEC also works closely with the respective graduate schools it serves. To learn more about the career services in your school, visit the appropriate page under the Academic Programs & Careers section.
