Simmons College is a nationally distinguished small university founded in 1899 and located in the heart of Boston.
Our undergraduate college provides exceptional liberal arts education and pre-professional programs integrated with career preparation for approximately 2,000 women. Simmons also offers coeducational graduate programs through four renowned graduate schools serving over 2,700 students: the College of Arts and Sciences, the Graduate School of Library & Information Science, the School of Health Sciences, and the School of Social Work. A fifth graduate school, the School of Management, is the first women-only business school in the US.
Simmons College has been named a "Best College" by U.S.News & World Report in its 2014 edition of the "America's Best Colleges" guidebook. Simmons ranked in the top tier of schools in the Regional Universities North category.
U.S.News is the third national ranking organization to recognize Simmons for its strong academic programming and robust student offerings. The Princeton Review featured Simmons in its 2014 guide of the nation's "Best 378 Colleges" - a distinction shared by only 15 percent of the 4,000 four-year colleges.
Forbes named Simmons among "America's 650 Top Colleges" in 2013.
In addition to its main ranking, U.S.News also ranked Simmons in the "Best Undergraduate Business Program" category and included the College in the "A+ Schools for B Students" the Regional Universities North category, a designation for having distinctive programs that serve a, "broad, engaged student body."
