Jessica Faulk

Jessica Faulk is entering her fifth year at Simmons College. With many years in the field of Student Affairs, Jess has worked in a variety of residential communities. Before coming to Boston, Jess worked at Bowling Green State University, Heidelberg College, and the University of California, Santa Barbara. Her interests include women's studies, LGBT education, and diversity training. When she is not working you may find Jessica rollerblading down the Charles River Esplanade or kayaking.

Susan Chudd

Director, Office of Student Leadership and Activities

Susan came to Simmons College in July 2005 after completing her Masters in Higher Education at Boston College. Originally from New Jersey, she completed a BFA in Music Performance on the Double Bass and a BS in Psychology at Carnegie Mellon University in Pittsburgh. Susan coordinates Undergraduate Orientation and leadership programs, including the Emerging Leaders Program. She also advises the Student Government Association, the Microcosm Yearbook, and the Senior Class. Outside of OSLA, Susan enjoys playing the double bass in the Wellesley Symphony Orchestra, rock-climbing, and has an unfettered passion for Diet Coke.

Julia joined the Simmons family in the Fall of 2010 as a Campus Life Coordinator and Resident Director of Evans and Smith Hall. Julia has been working at women's institutions for five years. Prior to her work at Simmons, she worked at Mount Holyoke College and received her M.Ed from Springfield College. She proudly serves on the Board of Directors of the Alumni Association for UMASS Dartmouth her alma mater. Julia is also on the Social Chair for the NASPA GLBT Knowledge Community.When people ask Julia what inspires her to work at a women's college she says it is the diverse dialogue that can happen between students, the traditions and the communities that are built. Her hope is to empower and enlighten her students. She have been a member of NASPA and ACPA since 2007. On her free time she loves exploring Boston! The ICA is her favorite museum. Her ultimate goal: To one day support or build a school for young girls in Honduras.

Sarah Cyr-Mutty

Sarah Cyr-Mutty is a recent graduate of Simmons College who just can't get enough. She graduated with a degree in Women and Gender Studies, and is interested in issues of social justice. Originally from Deerfield, MA, she now lives in Jamaica Plain with three roommates and her little Italian Greyhound. Sarah loves cuddling with her dog, baking goodies, watching Jeopardy!, and traveling. She is currently working in the Office of Residence Life as the Housing Coordinator.

Corey came to Simmons in July of 2012 as the Program Coordinator for OSLA. Prior to joining the Simmons staff, Corey worked for Princeton University as the Assistant Director of the Frist Campus Center. He has also worked at Wesleyan University in both Student Activities and Campus Center Operations and Central Connecticut State University in Academic Advising where he earned his B.A. in Psychology and his M.S. in Counseling with a concentration in Student Development in Higher Education. In his free time he likes to explore new cuisines, go to the beach, play trivia competitively, bike riding, shopping and traveling to the Caribbean.

Kristi Swartz

Resident Director, Dix Hall

Prior to joining the Simmons Residence Life team, Kristi worked as a Resident Assistant at Stonehill College, where she also earned a Bachelor's degree in United States History. Outside of work, Kristi enjoys playing the guitar, watching the Red Sox, shopping for antiques, baking, and listening to music. Originally from Uxbridge, MA Kristi is looking forward to living at Simmons and in Boston.

Gina Louis

Gina Louis is from Brockton, MA and has worked as a college and financial aid consultant, helping students and their families with college matters, from the selection phase to the application process. Before helping others with their college experience, Gina pursued her college education at UMass Dartmouth.  She believes the university "took a strong young girl and made her into a stronger young woman… I learned and grew a lot."  Gina, who earned her BA in English literature in 2007, is currently on the UMass Dartmouth Alumni Association's Board of Directors. Gina is also a member of the Young Black Women's Society a non-profit organization in Boston. She's hoping to pursue a M.Ed while at Simmons. Gina loves arts & crafts, reading/collecting journals, being a social butterfly, shopping, taking the time to self-reflect and going to church.

Edward Byrne

Resident Director, Mesick Hall

Edward Byrne joined the Simmons Residence Life staff in August of 2012. His previous professional experience includes serving as the Coordinator of Student Diversity Programs for grades 9-12 in the Cambridge Public Schools, where he developed diversity initiatives and multicultural programming, and advised school, district, and city leaders on culturally competent curriculum, instruction, and school climate practices. He continues to teach a seminar on race and culture for high school juniors and seniors every year. Additionally, he was Vice-Chair of the Massachusetts Commission on GLBT Youth, an independent state agency that provides oversight and sets policy on supporting GLBT youth across the state. He received his Bachelor of Liberal Arts degree in Social Studies from Harvard University and is a native of Methuen, MA.

Sarah Shives

Sarah was born & raised in Spokane, WA and studied Psychology & Women Studies at Seattle University.  After college she did a year of service with Jesuit Volunteer Corps Northwest, which entailed volunteering full-time at a homeless shelter for teens & living in intentional community in Anchorage, AK.  Then Sarah moved to Portland, OR and worked for two years as an Assistant Hall Director for the University of Portland.  Last fall Sarah started her Masters in Gender & Cultural Studies at Simmons.  Sarah is very excited to be working in Res Life at Simmons because she'll have the chance to fuse her vocational interest in student affairs with her passion for gender studies.  Sarah is a people-loving introvert who enjoys running, camping, & exploring whatever city she lives in.

Vanessa Martinez

Vanessa Martinez is a recent college graduate of Mount Holyoke College concentrating in Spanish and Theater. Originally she is from New York City and she loves musical theater and anything theater related. She loves anything L.L. Bean and is a big fan of Dancing with the Stars! She also loves to read and explore new cities. Vanessa is very excited to live in Boston and work at Simmons this year.
