Simmons College has chosen to be a part of the It Gets Better Project. This project is a national initiative started by author Dan Savage as a response to a rash of LGBT suicides. Unfortunately, estimates indicate that between 30-40% of gay, lesbian, and bisexual youth have attempted suicide.* This is why it is so important for those of us who have moved through difficult times in our lives and come out on the other side to tell our stories. We need to send the message to those who are struggling that IT GETS BETTER!
We hope you will consider being a part of the project, either by telling your own story, or holding a sign of support & join our photo collage. Upcoming video taping days are on:
Friday, February 10th, 10am to 2pm
Saturday, February 25th, 11am to 3pm
Sign up or find out more about the project at simmons.edu/itgetsbetter.
