My first blog post ever!
I've never been big on updating the world about my life through numerous daily Facebook statuses or creating a Twitter account, but I am so excited to be writing my own blog! Maybe because "my own blog" sounds more scholarly than "my own tweet" or "a status update"? Nonetheless, I am excited!
I cannot believe that my first year of college is almost over! Time has really flown by! I am anxious about finals and just want the next 3 weeks to be over, however, I am also saddened to be leaving the campus, my friends, and classes for the summer. Besides the warm weather, summer holds exciting new opportunities and promises this year! I will be an Orientation Leader (OL) and am looking forward to meeting the incoming class of 2015. It seems like just yesterday that I was attending my own summer orientation and spending the night in a 95 degree dorm room. I still loved the transition into college life though!
In addition to being an OL, I landed a paid research internship for the summer at the Dana Farber Cancer Institute which I will be starting in June and will be sure to let you know more about soon!
I found out today that I was re-elected Class President of 2014 and am looking forward to another productive and fun year! My Class Council already has 2 events planned for September - a "Welcome Back 2014" event - and a "2014 Welcomes 2015" event! We are also planning to get a Simmons team together to participate in a Walk for Breast Cancer that will be taking place in October.
Okay, well, I have TWO organic chemistry quizzes tomorrow, a lecture quiz and a lab quiz, so I should go review my notes now!
I will be sure to post (blog?) again real soon! Have a great week everyone!
