Simmons tennis goes for third consecutive championship

Simmons athletics is having a great fall season! But, Simmons tennis is doing exceedingly well. They are aiming to win their third consecutive GNAC championship, which will enter them in the NCAA tournament for the spring. They are 11-4 overall and undefeated in the conference.

Being the number one seed in the Great Northeast Athletic Conference allowed them a bye in the first round of the playoffs. Simmons will play Johnson and Wales tomorrow at 10 a.m. on the Windsor courts.

During Tuesday's practice, I spoke with head coach, Rob Rauseo, and both senior captains, Katy Hallinan and Maile Macleod. Both captians are having incredible individual success this season, however, Katy says it is still all about the team.

"It's a team thing, and so its more excitement for the whole team. I want everyone to do well, and I want everyone to have the experience of going to the NCAA's."

Go to the Windsor fields, tomorrow, Saturday, October 23, and support your fellow Sharks. We hope to see them win that championship and go even further this year at the NCAA's. Good luck girls!
