First annual Top Chef challenge
Last wednesday the faculty and staff at Simmons had their own version of Top Chef. Three teams of two faculty/staff showed off their culinary skills to cook up their own creative versions of chicken alfredo.
Each team was given the same ingredients and 45 minutes to cook and present their meals to the culinary experts to judge and choose the winner. Our culinary expert judges were President Helen Drinan, Aramark Regional Culinary Director Sue Small, and Simmons student Sam Schenk '12.
Executive Director of Technology Debra Orr and Assistant Professor of Nursing Priscilla Gazarian impressed the judges with their peeled asparagus and perfectly cooked chicken. Both were honored to be named the first ever Top Chefs of Simmons College. Debra Orr said it was all about the fun:
"I think it was a lot of fun. It really was. For me that's what it's all about. It's fun to compete in a non-threatening way, so that's what I enjoyed most about it."
Take a look at the video from the event and hear more from the top chefs!
