Juliana Barrios #9

  • Position: Right Side/Opp. Hitter
  • Class: Sophomore
  • Hometown: Belmont, Mass.
  • High School: Belmont
  • Major: Psychology

Conetta's Take: The recipient of last year's Coaches Award, for thousands of reasons, one specifically her eagerness to improve all over the court, not just one specific position.  Juliana has a passion for volleyball that you cannot teach somebody to have.  Unfortunately in her debut season in 2007, Juliana suffered an extremely unlucky ankle injury that kept her sidelined for over half of the season. Juliana has bounced right back and is in the best shape she has been since her debut a year ago. Juliana will be swinging from the right side this year.

2007: Saw action in nine games ... registered two kills against Saint Joseph's (Maine) ... had two one kill and one dig games, versus Suffolk on Oct. 13 and Newbury on Oct. 10 ... recorded a service ace against Albertus Magnus on Oct. 1 ... made collegiate debut against Worcester Polytechnic Institute on Sept. 4.

HIGH SCHOOL: Two-year varsity letterwinner at Belmont High School ... captained team as a junior ... earned team's Sportsmanship Award ... member of National Honor Society.
