The team has participated in the NCAA tournament in 2007, 2009, 2010 and 2011, with the 2009-10 squad advancing to the round of thirty-two.
Rauseo was named the GNAC Women's Tennis Coach of the Year in 2005, 2006 and 2008. The 2010-11 Sharks were ranked as high as #19 (May 5, 2011) in the ITA Northeast rankings, a program best.
Prior to coming to Simmons, Rauseo was the varsity tennis coach at Mt. Alvernia high school. The 2006 team qualified for the state tournament for the first time in school history. Rauseo, who also coached girls' tennis at The Winsor School, was named the Eastern Independent League (EIL) Coach of the Year in 2009 while leading his team to a second place league finish. He currently serves on the ITA Division III ranking Committee, as well as the NCAA Division III Regional Advisory Committee from 2008-10.
Rauseo, a four-year standout at Suffolk from 1981-84, was selected the team's most valuable player in each of his last three seasons. A three-time captain, Rauseo set a program record with 19 consecutive wins at the top position and was ranked among New England's top twenty players. In May of 2007, Rauseo became the first tennis player inducted into Suffolk's Athletic Hall of Fame.
Rauseo, a native of Saugus, MA, earned a bachelor's degree in philosophy from Suffolk in 1984 and a master's in business administration in 1990. He is the Associate Director of financial services and an adjunct professor at his alma mater.
