Title: Assistant Softball Coach
Hannah Angel is entering her second season as Assistant Softball Coach at Simmons College. Angel assists with all facets of the program, including practice planning, game preparation and strategy. In 2010, under the direction of Angel, the Sharks pitching staff had a combined 2.76 ERA and held opponents to a .251 batting average.
Angel comes to Simmons with a great deal of pitching knowledge, having pitched at the Division I level for the past four years at the University of North Carolina at Greensboro. At UNC Greensboro, Angel posted 484 career strike outs (2nd in UNCG history) and held a career ERA od 2.85. In 2009 as a redshirt senior, Angel was ranked in the Southern Conference Top Five for ERA, and was featured in the June 2003 edition of Sports Illustrated.
A native of East Bend, N.C., Angel graduated from UNCG with a double major in History and Sociology. Angel currently resides in Beverly, Mass. and is pursuing a graduate degree in Social Work at Simmons College.
