Coach Annie Hennigan is entering her fourth year at the helm of the Simmons Softball program. In June of 2008, Hennigan was promoted to Head Softball Coach after serving as assistant coach for the past three years. The 2011 season was another winning season for Coach Hennigan and the Sharks, as the team posted a 24-17 (19-5 GNAC) record and a third place finish in the GNAC regular season. The Sharks were also invited to the ECAC Championship Tournament for the second time in school history. Hennigan garnered GNAC Coach of the Year honors and two of her athletes received Player of the Year and Rookie of the Year honors. 2011 was one of the most decorated seasons in the program's history, as Hennigan saw four athletes named to the All-Conference Team, three named to the National Fastpitch Coaches Association Northeast All-Region Team, two selected to the CoSIDA College Division Teams, one Capital One Academic All-America College Division Selection and a NEISDA First Team All-Star selection.
A former standout Simmons athlete, Hennigan received all-conference honors in both softball and field hockey. Hennigan, a transfer from Fordham University, was named the 2004 Great Northeast Athletic Conference Rookie of the Year in softball. She was also a recipient of the athletic department's Coaches Award as a senior.
Hennigan also works full-time in the athletic department as assistant to the director. She graduated magna cum laude from Simmons in 2005 with a B.A. in English and received her MBA from the Simmons School of Management in 2010. A native of Worcester, Mass., Hennigan currently resides in Derry, N.H.
Jamie Millett
Jamie Millett graduated from Merrimack College in 2011 where she played for four seasons. Millett captained the Warriors in her senior season and helped lead them to an East Regional (1) Championship, 2nd place in the Northeast-10 Conference (NE-10), and first national ranking (#25 National Fastpitch Coaches Association). Honors include 2010 Northeast-10 All-Conference Academic Team and Merrimack College Athletic Department Honor Roll (2008-2011).
Millett graduated from Hudson High School in 2007 where she captained the town's first ever state championship team in her senior season. In addition, Millett's high school career included two state championship appearances (2006 and 2007), four district championships (2003, 2004, 2006, and 2007), and five Mid-Wach C Championships (2003-2007). Honors include Mid Wach C All-Star (2003-2007), Metrowest Daily News All-Star (2007), and Worcester Telegram Superteam (2007). Millett is also a hitting and fielding instructor at Triple Play Batting Cages in Clinton, MA.
Millett currently resides in Hudson, MA and is pursuing her Masters in Social Work from Simmons College.Atlee Cahill
Atlee Cahill is entering her first year as the Pitching Coach for the women’s softball program at Simmons. Cahill was a starting pitcher for four years at Merrimack College in North Andover, MA, where she helped to bring the team to the NE-10 tournament twice and championship once. She also earned Merrimack College Athletic Department Honor Roll each year during her tenure. Cahill has experience in coaching youth players the fundamentals and mechanics of pitching and is looking forward to working with athletes at the collegiate level.
She graduated Magna cum laude from Merrimack College in 2010 with a B.S. in Business Management and a minor degree in Economics. She works full time for State Street Corporation as a Mutual Fund Accountant. A native of Gloucester, MA., she currently resides in South Boston.
