Kevin O'Brien
Head Coach, Cross Country

Kevin O'Brien is in his second year as Head Coach of the Simmons College Cross Country team. In the fall of 2010, O'Brien helped transform a Simmons program that previously existed as a group of four running enthusiasts into a varsity-caliber team ready for NCAA Division III competition. Under his guidance, the Sharks turned in impressive performances against rival programs in the Great Northeast Athletic Conference, including a fourth-place finish among GNAC schools (eighth overall) at the 2010 Saints Invitational.
Prior to joining the Simmons staff, O'Brien spent four years coaching the Cross Country and Track and Field teams at Bishop Brady High School in Concord, N.H., where he also taught English, Spanish, film, and drama. He previously worked at Boston College High School and at St. Paul's School, and holds a degree in Film Studies with a concentration in Hispanic Language and Literature from Boston University.
In addition to his coaching duties at Simmons, O'Brien is a full-time student in the Master of Arts in English Program, where he is specializing in Renaissance Literature and Creative Writing.
