Jennifer Smialek is entering her first year as the Head Cross Country Coach at Simmons College. In addition to her coaching duties, Smialek also works in the Department of Residence Life at Simmons as a part-time Resident Director.
Smialek graduated from Penn State University in 2003 with a BS in Marketing. She is currently completing theses requirements for a Masters Degree in Psychology from Harvard University, and concurrently pursuing a M.Ed. in Elementary Education and M.Ed. in Special Education—Moderate Needs at Boston College.
Smialek competed in Cross Country and Track at Penn State, where she earned the Rookie of the Year Award, Academic All-American Honors, set indoor & outdoor team records and assisted with the development and implementation of many camps and programs for area youth.
Smialek continues to run competitively and has transitioned into longer distance running. She has run numerous marathons, and she is currently training for her first ultra-marathon (50 miler). She has also run in the Green Mountain and Reach the Beach 200-mile Team Relays.
