Tony Price is entering his tenth year as the Assistant Athletic Director and Head Basketball Coach at Simmons College. In addition to his coaching duties, Price is responsible for managing the team budgets for Simmons's eight intercollegiate sports and handles scheduling for the Holmes Sports Center facilities.

In the 2008-2009 season, Price led the Sharks to a 17-9 overall record and a berth in the Great Northeast Athletic Conference tournament for the seventh straight season. Juniors Stephanie Fox and Aubree Giarrosso became the sixth and seventh players to earn GNAC All-Conference accolades under Price, with Fox making the First Team and Giarrosso making the Sportsmanship Team. The winningest coach in the program's history, Price was selected GNAC Coach of the Year by his peers in 2003 and led the Sharks to a program-best 18-8 record and their first-ever postseason victory in the 2003-04 season.

Prior to arriving at Simmons College, Price was as an assistant coach at UMass.-Boston for two seasons. He also served as the Director of Youth Development and Recreation at Lena Park Community Development Center for three years. Price has also traveled to Europe to teach and promote the game of basketball. He was recognized with the "The Heights Award" in 2007. The award honors an individual who has made significant contributions to the development and advancement of women's sports through influence or personal achievement inspires girls and women in Massachusetts. He served as the conference representative for the NCAA Regional Advisory Committee for the 2007-08 season.

A three-year standout at Worcester State College, Price scored over 1,300 career points and was a two-time all-conference selection for the Lancers. He was inducted into the Worcester State Athletic Hall of Fame on October 19, 2007.

A native of Wilmington, Del., Price earned a bachelor's degree from Worcester State and a broadcasting degree from the Connecticut School of Broadcasting. Price is currently working on his blog, "The Darker Shade of Sports," and in 2009 published his first book, "An Unsung Coach Hears Through the Noise of a Black Athlete's Dream." Price and his wife, Paula, are the proud parents of five children: Tanyania, Tony, Michael, Alexandrah and Chanel and reside in Randolph, Mass.

Katherine Vlahakis

Assistant Basketball Coach, Athletics

Kate Vlahakis is entering her third season as an Assistant Basketball Coach at Simmons College. She assists with all aspects of the program, including game and practice planning, recruiting and fundraising.

Vlahakis played collegially at St. Lawrence University. She was third on her team in scoring as a freshman and started for the Saints in the NCAA Tournament in 2003. She has coached at St. Lawrence's Basketball Camp, as well as middle school and AAU programs in her native New Hampshire, where she was the first 1,000-point scorer at Holderness School.

A native of Lebanon, NH, Vlahakis graduated with a bachelor's degree in psychology from St. Lawrence University. Vlahakis currently works full-time as a personal trainer at Fitness Together in the Back Bay. She resides in the Fenway.

Shannon Clark

Assistant Basketball Coach, Athletics

Shannon Clark is entering his first year as Assistant Basketball Coach at Simmons College. His official duties will include guard development, game preparation, scouting, assisting with recruiting and game stats.

Clark comes to Simmons after a year as Head Women’s Basketball Coach at Wheelock College during the 2007-08 season. While at the helm of the Wheelock program, Clark guided the Wildcats to the most victories in recent team history.

Prior to his role at Wheelock, Clark served as the Varsity Assistant Coach at Boston College High School from 2004-06. While at B.C. High, the Eagles amassed a 59-10 record, including an undefeated 2006 campaign that captured the Massachusetts Division 1 State title. In addition, the team won three consecutive Catholic Conference crowns, and finished the season ranked in the top-ten in the state each year.

Clark began his coaching career at South Boston High School, when he served as the Varsity Assistant Coach from 2003-04. During that time, he served as the Director and Coach of the Mass Wildcats Girls AAU Basketball Club from 2001-07.

Clark is a Grinnell College alum.

Danielle Gravely

Basketball Coaching Intern, Athletics

Danielle is a recent graduate of Keene State College where she was a 5-year member of the Women’s Basketball Team. Danielle was honored with the Strength and Conditioning All-American Award this past spring. Danielle has experience working with youth basketball camps, as well as coaching the Cheshire County Knights, a New Hampshire AAU team this past spring. Danielle graduated with a bachelor’s degree in Health Science with a focus on Health Promotion and Fitness. Danielle is currently working at Fitcorp as a personal trainer.
