November 22, 2008 - Senior guard Sarah Clayton (Falmouth, Mass.) and junior captain Julianna Eagles (Quincy, Mass.) each scored 18 points, as Simmons defeated St. Joseph's College (NY) in the consolation round of the Hunter College Women's Basketball Alumni Tip-Off Tournament at the Hunter College Sportsplex on Saturday afternoon.

Basketball Falls to Oneonta State, 76-40
November 21, 2008 - Junior forward Stephanie Fox (West Springfield, Mass.) scored a team-high ten points as the Simmons basketball team fell to Oneonta State, 76-40, in the first game of the Hunter College Women's Basketball Alumni Tip-Off Tournament at the Hunter College Sportsplex on Friday evening. The Sharks fall to 2-1 while the Red Dragons improve to 2-0.

Basketball's Kreckie Presented with 2008 NCAA Sportsmanship Award
November 17, 2008 Simmons Basketball senior Lauren Kreckie (Braintree, Mass.) was presented with the NCAA Sportsmanship Award for 2008, for the Division III conference. This award is given annually in recognition of the desire to promote sportsmanship and ethical behavior and the highest ideals of respect, caring, civility, fairness, honesty, integrity and responsibility as a Division III student-athlete.

Sharks Clip Eagles of Saint Elizabeth in Season, Home Opener 55-49
November 15, 2008 - Simmons Basketball opened the season at home in style with a non-conference win over the College of Saint Elizabeth, 55-49. The Sharks advance to a 1-0 overall record, while the Eagles fall to 0-1.

Basketball 2008-09 Season Preview
November 11, 2008 Simmons Basketball is gearing up for another season under Head Coach Tony Price, who is beginning his ninth year at the helm of the program. Last season, the Sharks finished in 8th place and qualified for the Great Northeast Athletic Conference tournament, their 6th straight appearance. The team had many new faces and it took time for the team to develop cohesion, which at times resulted in inconsistent play. However, the Sharks made a serious run at the tail end of the season, winning 5 out of their last 7 games to qualify for the postseason. The team hopes to use this strong finish to prepare for 2008.
