Yo-Bo

Using sun salutations from yoga stretch and prepare your mind and body for an intense cardio workout. Traditional kicks from martial arts blended with punches and techniques from boxing will work every major muscle group. This workout wll strengthen your core, tighten your hams, quads and glutes, and define your arms shoulders and back. No previous experience is needed - just a desire to sweat and get fit! Sweat level: 3

 

Power Yoga

Power yoga is a challenging style of yoga and appeals to those who are already quite fit and want minimal chanting and meditation with their yoga. There is an emphasis on strength and flexibility through challenging poses for a great workout. Sweat level: 3

 

Yogalates

Using a combination of various techniques from both Yoga and Pilates, this program will create a full body workout that will strengthen and stretch as you sculpt your body, lengthen your limbs and intensify your total core. All levels are welcome. Sweat level: 2

 

Core Fitness

Core training is a dynamic strength and conditioning program for your core muscles. Sculpt and strengthen your abs, buttocks, and back in this effective and challenging multi-level exercise program. This class will drawn on both Pilates and traditional sculpting exercises to target and tone your core. Develop strength from the inside out! Benefits include enhanced muscle tone, flexibility and posture. Sweat level: 3

 

Spinning I

Using classic Spinning techniques and influences, this indoor cycling class focuses on a total body workout with both cardio and strength training combined. The instructor will carry you through an array of different movements and positions on the bike to target specific muscle groups and get your heart pumping. Because each bike has its own knob to adjust the weight on the fly wheel, people taking this class can make it as easy or as difficult as they like, however, due to the nature of the class it would at the least be a 3 in difficulty. Sweat level: 3

 

Introduction to Ballet

Introduction to Ballet is for those who are intereted in learning the basics of classical ballet. The fundamentals of ballet will be taught in a relaxed atmosphere where participants will gain an understanding and appreciation for basic ballet principles and steps. Each class will consist of stretching exercises, barre and centre work. This course is for those who have never taken a ballet class or for those who have taken ballet in the past and wish to work on their basic ballet exercises. Participants should wear ballet slippers to class; please do not wear outdoor shoes into the dance studio. If you are comfortable doingso, please wear a leotard and tights (women) or dance belts, tights, and t-shirts (men). Otherwise, you may wear workout clothing that is form-fitted, stretchy and comfortable to allow freedom of movement. Sweat level: 2

 

Cardio Funk

Cardio Jazz is a fun new way to integrate dance into your workout. You wll learn the fundamentals of Jazz and Hip Hop while getting a great cardio workout and listening to new music. Please dress comfortably and dance shoes or sneakers are appropriate. Sweat level: 3

Learn to Dive

Learn to dive is for anyone who has ever wished they could do more than a front dive.  This class is open to individuals of all levels.  Participants with little or no diving experience will learn the basics such as standard approaches, line-ups, conditioning exercises, and of course dives.  More experienced divers are also welcome as the course can be tailored to the individual.  All participants will have the opportunity to use Simmons state of the art training equipment which includes a trampoline and dry board station.  Sweat level: 1


Fun Time Splash

Enjoy a new and exciting way to workout...in the water! This routine will tone and shape the body through a challenging workout that takes place in the pool. Since you are in the water the impact on your body is reduced and this results in a pain free routine that is gentle on the joints. You should wear attire that is appropriate for the pool and remember to bring a towel.  Sweat Level: 2
