Simmons Crew Erg-a-thon set for Feb. 13th

The Simmons Crew team has certainly made a name for itself in the past few years. We have competed in and won many local and regional events, including a bronze and silver medal in the prestigious Head of the Charles Regatta. This year will mark the second annual Erg-A-Thon, an all day rowing event hosted in the lobby of the MCB. The entire team will take turns rowing in hour increments throughout the day. Erg machines will be set up for the public to take a turn on as well. A bake sale and information booth will also be on location to raise awareness for the team as well as for the Breast Cancer Foundation.
The event was constructed originally out of the want and will to help the community as well as a fundraiser for our team's Spring Break training trip to Florida. Last year was their first attempt at this event and they were successful at raising over $1000 dollars. They also donated a portion of the proceeds to the Breast Cancer Fund. This year they hope to raise much more than that still, and to donate again to the Breast Cancer Fund, this time 25% of the total funds!
Be sure to look for them in the Lobby of the Main Campus Building at Simmons College on February 13, all day!
