Brown Named NAC Rookie of the Week

Simmons freshman Marianna Brown (Newton, N.H.) has been named the North Atlantic Conference Rookie of the Week, the NAC announced on Monday evening. This marks the second week in a row a first-year from Simmons has earned the honors.
Brown’s recognition comes after a week in which the forward scored two goals in a conference win over Rivier College for the Sharks. Her improvement in the offensive circle is showing and she has become a strong part of the Sharks' offense.
“Marianna has been steadily improving on the wing, really working on finishing her shots and completing good passes in the circle,” said Head Coach Kate Leonard. “She is becoming more vocal and has made an immediate impact on our offense. With her willingness to learn and improve, Marianna will continue to play a big part for Sharks field hockey.”
