Richards '08 Receives Academic All-Disctrict CoSIDA Award

Nicole Richards '08, a four-year rower and three-year captain for Simmons Crew, was named to CoSIDA's 2007-2008 Academic All-District Team, presented by ESPN The Magazine.
This award is given annually to student-athletes who demonstrate excellence in the classroom and in athletic competition. Richards, who originally hails from Dover, NH, finished her Simmons academic career in spring 2008 with a 3.94 GPA and a degree in Mathematics.
During her career with Simmons Crew, Richards helped her team earn two consecutive New England Fours Championships Team Point Trophies in 2007 and 2008. She rowed in the Varsity four that placed third and second at the Head of the Charles in 2006 and 2007; second at the Textile River Regatta, and first at the New Hampshire Championships in 2007. Additionally, she helped the Simmons Varsity four to gold medal finishes at the ECAC National Invitational Regatta and at the New England Fours Championships in 2008. In 2006 and 2007, she took home the silver at NE Fours Championships.
