Simmons Soccer Camp will offer you an opportunity to develop your technical skills, increase your tactical knowledge and strengthen your leadership abilities. You will receive instruction from Simmons College head coach, Erica Mastrogiacomo, along with her staff and current student-athletes. The Simmons Soccer Camp experience will be enhanced by tours of the city of Boston and our campus, a Q&A session with current student-athletes, guest speakers and much more.
The Leadership Connection
At Simmons we believe in the importance of leadership and student development. We also believe sports play an important role in students’ lives as well as in teaching leadership skills. Participation in sports develops the abilities to work within teams, meet goals, manage setbacks, accept feedback and be flexible. Through sports activities, students practice the skills of leadership first hand. At the Sharks Soccer Camp, we are committed to weaving soccer and leadership together. Our goal is to teach you how to transfer leadership skills from the field into life!
Camp Director - Erica Mastrogiacomo
Coach Mastrogiacomo has headed the Simmons Soccer program for six years, and in that time has coached her team to the Great Northeast Athletic Conference tournament four times. In 2009 she led the Sharks to the Championship title and was also named GNAC Coach of the Year. Coach Mastrogiacomo was a four-year starter at Syracuse University and a two-year captain who finished her career tied for ninth on the program's all-time assist list. In addition to her collegiate success, Coach Mastrogiacomo returned to the Women's Professional Soccer League in 2009 as co-captain of the Bay State Select, and made an appearance for the United States National "B" Team in 2002 against Mexico. She holds a United States Soccer Federation Coaching “D” License and an NSCAA National Diploma, and currently coaches for FC Greater Boston Bolts. Coach Mastrogiacomo has worked numerous camps and clinics, including Boston College, Princeton University, Bowdoin College and Villanova University, and will be joined by a number of current and former collegiate athletes to make up the coaching staff this summer.
