Memory and Honor Gifts

Memory and Honor Gifts

Benefactors often choose to memorialize or honor a special person by making a gift in their name. Simmons College gratefully accepts gifts made with this intention and seeks to recognize the honoree and acknowledge the donor in a substantive and meaningful way.

Gifts in Honor

Simmons College welcomes gifts made in honor of a person or special occasion (i.e., milestone birthday, retirement, or wedding anniversary). When making a gift, please be sure to identify the individual and/or the occasion that you wish to honor. Honorees will receive a Simmons College card notifying them of the gift (the donor's name and address is included; the gift amount is not shared). Donors will receive a receipt and letter for tax purposes.

Gifts in Memoriam

For gifts made in memoriam, a personalized card with the name and address of the donor is sent to whomever the College has listed as a contact for the deceased. As with gifts made in honor of someone, gift amounts will not be shared. If there is a specific family member or contact person that you would like to be notified of your gift, please include their name and address, as well as their relationship to the deceased.
