» transfer credits

At your request, Simmons will provide a preliminary estimate of your transfer credits. In general, you will be granted credit for any course taken at another accredited institution, provided a comparable course is offered by Simmons. A minimum grade of C is required to receive credit for a course. An official transfer credit evaluation will be sent with your letter of admission.

For more detailed information, please download:

To be eligible for a Simmons undergraduate degree, you must complete at least 48 semester hours of credit (equivalent to 3 semesters, full-time) at Simmons. The number of credits you transfer to Simmons College determines your academic standing upon entering Simmons. If you have:

  • fewer than 32 credits, first-year student
  • 32 to 63 credits, sophomore
  • 64 Credits, junior

Students who qualify for the Dix Scholars Program (students age 24 or older who are pursuing a first or second bachelor's degree, including part-time and non-degree students) may transfer credit through prior course work, the College-Level Examination Program (32 credits maximum), and the Simmons College Credit for Prior Learning process (24 credits maximum). Please see the Dix Scholars section for more information.

Note: Grades earned for transfer courses will not be averaged into the Simmons GPA and will not appear on the Simmons transcript.
